IV. “Enigma”
I don’t understand the racing heart
The nervousness and serenity perfectly blended
Or the paradox of time stood still, at a halt,
Yet still seeming to fly by at slip-stream velocity
And all this from simply peering into her eyes…
I don’t understand it, but I’ve felt it all before.
I don’t understand the pull to return to a place
Existing in a sphere of mind,
The deconstructed dream space of my heart
Where our floor plans still lay
And try to make so that which was not in my control
Creating a paradox of ‘alternate reality’
While walking about subconsciously.
I don’t understand it, but I’ve done it all before.
I don’t understand why You would want to stay
Finding mere microfibers of hope to continue moving forward
You do more than just put up with me
The ‘paradox’ that is You recreating my reality
So I can see the things You see
And all simply because You love me.
I don’t always understand the how, or the why
But I’ve received it all before.
I do not understand how this is supposed to work
The anomaly of falling in love
No, I don’t understand it and I haven’t come any closer
But then I wonder if that’s exactly the point…
